eScan Customization Kit is an application for partners of eScan, using which, our partners can customize eScan products to show their company information to their customers. Customization includes partner email ID, website and other relevant communication information that can be used by their customers to keep a closer contact with their eScan Solution Providers.
Requirements for customization of eScan products:-
a) The eScan Product setup files which need to be customized should be downloaded using this link.
b)
To get the eScan Customization kit for customizing the product, please login to the eScan Partner Portal or Contact your eScan Touchpoint or write to sales@escanav.com.
Documentation for using the kit:-
1) On executing the kit the following dialog box will be shown.

2) In the above window, three tabs can be viewed, 1st tab i.e “Setup File Info” is used for selecting the eScan build (executable product file) which needs to be customized. The build once customized, cannot be reverted back. Therefore, it is recommended to take a backup of build before selecting and customizing.
If an eScan build is already customized, the “Selected Options” field will show you the customized information embedded in the build. Else, the “Selected Options” field will remain blank.
The “Evaluation Days” period is set to “0” by default, which means the customized product will run for a period of 30 days without license key.
You can set the “Evaluation Days” for a maximum up to 90 Days which is the maximum limit.
3) The Second Tab “Company Info I” can be used for inputting information about the website and contact ID, as per partner requirements. It is not mandatory for to input all information except the "Default Sales email-ID". Below is the image for the same.

4) All the Links can be verified by using the “Button” as shown below.

5) The Third tab “Company Info II” can be used to input warning message information displayed during the evaluation and contract period of the product.
It can also be used to define the number of days before which the alert will start to display, prior to completion of evaluation and contract period. The number of days cannot exceed 30.

6) Once the information is filled out and the build is selected, just click on “Customize now” button as shown in the image below.

Please note that the "Default Sales email-ID" should not be empty. If you have not entered the same, you will see the below screen. Click on "Ok" and enter the "Default Sales email-ID" in the "Company Info I" Tab.

Once you click on "Ok", you will view the following screen. Enter a valid "Default Sales email-ID" as below and click on "Customize Now".

On clicking "Customize Now", you will see the below screen that will show the upload status of the customization information to our server.

7) Once the build is customized successfully you will view the popup as seen in the below image.

8) In order to confirm the customization information within the build, go to the tab ‘”Setup file info” and check for the input under “Selected option”. If all the information is correctly displayed, the customized build of eScan is ready for installation.

9) The kit saves the information in a file named usetup.ini after the customization is complete. It creates the file in the %temp% directory.
This information will be used by the Kit for loading the previous customization inputs.

10) If the customized build contains any error, you can restore the EXE from the backup you have made and the same can be re-customized with new information.
NOTES:
a) After customization, the setup installer will lose its sign validity (double-clicking on the executable will show Unknown Publisher).
b) The above will NOT affect the working of eScan. But, in case the partner wishes to re-sign the executable, they can write an email to qa@escanav.com, giving download details of customized versions. We will re-sign the executables and send it back to the partner. |
